Ecumenical Activities.

The church has close links with the local Methodist church and we have joint services and other events. We also play an active part in Churches Together in Broadway. Events include carols on the green at Christmas, a Walk of Witness on Good Friday, when a cross is carried from St. Saviour's down to the green for a service.

Our school assembly team draws people from several different churches, all united in the desire to present stories from the bible to children. We use a scheme called 'Open the Book', which tells the stories of the bible in a simple form that the children can understand. It is administered by members of the Diocese of Gloucester, another ecumenical link, and conforms to the legal requirements for school assemblies.

Lent lunches are held every Wednesday, in the Methodist Church Hall for the 6 weeks prior to Easter from 12 until 1.30. Soup and a roll, cheese and a drink are served for a £3.50 donation that goes to Christian Aid and Cafod.

Women's World Day of Prayer is held each year in a different church.

Our youth work is completely ecumenical with children from all churches and none, as are the helpers.

THE GOOD LUNCH CLUB    These ladies have supported our youth groups regularly - Cub Scouts, Brownies, Guides and Pilots - by making donations to them at frequent intervals. Now they are asking for our support - and it is a very pleasurable support they ask. Once every 8 weeks they serve a home cooked meal to their guests in the Methodist Church Hall. Edna, Stanley and I have been going regularly for years, but now they need more guests.  Once there were so many it was necessary to be given an invitation, but now there are fewer regulars and YOU could be included if you telephone Teresa on  01386 853941
The cost is £6 with a raffle ticket costing £1.
This is open to men and women and no one will be left to feel alone. It would be lovely to see some of you there to support these people who work for the aid of local charities.
